Transitions
are something I have always loved and welcomed - I find it fascinating to come
to a place of recognizing the need for change then moving toward the planning
and executing all the necessary steps to be able to get to where I (or we) want
to be.
That said though, I have observed many people avoiding change - through fear, uncertainty, negative past experiences or doubt in their own abilities.
Further, we are sometimes faced with unwanted change - something over which we do not have control. I will endeavour to explore this phenomenon as well and bring tips from me and others to smooth the process for readers and even create fun out of it along the way.
Change is a constant! Our lives change continuously and in truth, if they didn't, we'd probably be bored silly! So why do we sometimes struggle with change?
Do
we struggle only when change is thrust upon us by external factors? Or do
internal changes create the same kind of angst. Is it the size of the
change? The impact on other life factors? Let's find out!
This
page will be dedicated to transitions of all kinds - physical, emotional,
psychological, employment, residences, work-life beginnings and endings,
relationships (beginnings & endings), aging and more.
This
blog will be focused on describing and celebrating my/our own changes, casting
light on the process and providing encouragement along the way to those who
want to embrace change but find it difficult to do so.
In
developing this blog, my goal is to facilitate discussion and learning.
I'll draw on my own personal and professional experiences, as well as those of
others while we explore Transitions from many points of view.
Throughout
the development of this site, I will endeavour to guide us through my favourite
framework for movement - Awareness, Acknowledgement & Action.
Together
we'll be gathering material to gain AWARENESS, asking challenging questions to
assist us to ACKNOWLEDGE what we want need to do and providing ideas for
ACTION.
I
look forward to excellent discussions and your input!
Let's
begin!
